What Filler Is Used For Jawline Contouring?

Jawline contouring with fillers is becoming a widely popular cosmetic procedure for those seeking a slimmer looking face. Most celebrities have turned to jawline contouring like Khloe Kardashian, Kylie Jenner, Bella and Gigi Hadid, and Ariana Grande.

There are several fillers that are used to contour the jaw including Juvederm Voluma XC, Restylane Lyft, Radiesse, Sculptra and even botox. My particular nurse uses Radiesse with Voluma. The cost for jawline contouring varies, but averages $500-$2,000. It also depends on how many syringes you'll need which is anywhere between 2-4. Filler helps replace bone thus creating the illusion of a more defined jawline. The procedure typically lasts 10-20 minutes long. 

With jawline contouring it's not just about the jaw! This procedure can also reduce sagginess in the jowls,chin and neck. The best candidates for jawline contouring are those with mild  to moderate jowls. Jawline contouring can also eliminate excess neck fat and a double chin. Kybella is an injectable fat reducer that eliminates fat belown the chin and in the upper throat. This results in the reduction of the appearance of a double chin which futher enhances the contour of the jawline. Using BOTOX along the jawline can help those suffering from TMJ, chronic headaches, pain, and teeth grinding. Botox as a filler for the jawline can releive these issues by relaxing certain muscles in the jaw that create those problems.

I live in California (not L.A.) and my nurse charges $550.00 per syringe. For my upcoming appointment, I'll likely need 2 so $1100.00. The lifespan of jawline contouring is very attractive as it can last up to 2 years! However, it also depends on your genetics and metabolism. Just like BOTOX, this procedure has little to no downtime. You might experience a little redness or soreness for a day or two.

Sagging Jowl Cosmetic Procedures

The picture above is shocking, and it's me. The first picture is the day I had two syringes of Juvederm Voluma XC. I did not look like this before going into the Medspa :-).  After the filler my face was so swollen and bloated I covered my lower face with my sweatshirt the entire drive home. I was told this was completely normal and results would show within two weeks. I even googled it afterwards and saw pictures of other girls with the same results after injection so I was relieved. The second picture is me after 13 days and I was thrilled with the results. I had slight drooping with age in the lower face area but nothing major. No one could notice it unless I pointed it out, but I noticed it.  While it's shocking right after the injections, I recommend Juvederm Voluma XC for the jowl area.
