What Is A Liquid Facelift

A liquid facelift is a non-surgical cosmetic procedure that adds volume to the face. In less than an hour, your wrinkles will have filled in and your skin will look more refreshed and youthful.  It also restores your natural contours giving you a rested and energized appearance. As we age, our skin begins to sag both in the eyelids and lower areas of the face. Some may also experience discoloration and loss of suppleness. By the age of 30, collagen production decreases dramatically and it shows on our skin. A liquid facelift can slow the signs of aging and stimulate the production of new collagen helping us look younger longer.

What Is A Liquid Facelift?

While it has facelift in the name, a liquid facelift is not the same as a surgical facelift and won't give you the same results. Liquid facelifts also have no effect on the neck. This procedure is best suited for men and women in their late 20's to early '50s as a preventative method for aging and facial rejuvenation. A liquid facelift will smooth out wrinkles, lift, plump, and recontour the face. Your nurse or plastic surgeon uses dermal fillers such as Juvederm, Sculptra, Restylane, Radiesse, Botox, and Perlane. Each product serves a different purpose and will give you longer-lasting results when combined. The fillers give you a tighter appearance with most patients noticing immediate results.

Obviously, since no scalpel is used, a liquid facelift is non-invasive and requires little to no downtime. Juvederm Ultra Plus is primarily used to fill in deeper wrinkles. Juvederm Voluma creates volume in the cheek area and can last up to 2 years. Radiesse fills in moderate wrinkles known as marionette or smile lines and helps stimulate new collagen production.

You're likely a good candidate for a liquid facelift if you are just starting to notice a loss of volume or the beginning stages of sagginess to your face. Liquid facelifts are performed without anesthesia in your physician's office. Results vary from person to person and you may need maintenance every 6-12 months. Typically the cost for a liquid facelift ranges from $1,500-$5,000.
