1. Seasonal Fruit and Yogurt Parfaits

How beautiful do these look? Impress your guests and family with these healthy parfaits as an appetizer. They're so easy your kids can help make them! You can find the mini parfait cups in the plastic version at Walmart or Amazon. If you want the fancier glass ones, try Bed Bath and Beyond or Crate & Barrel. Fill each cup with plain granola, one big scoop of yogurt (plain or flavor of your choice), and top with your favorite seasonal fruits.

2.  Grinch Juice

Skip the boring mimosas and try out this fun cocktail instead. The Grinch Juice can also be made virgin of course, for the kids or those who don't drink.

Ingredients:

1 packet of Kool-Aid lemon-lime mix

3 cups of lemon-lime soda

4 cups water

4 cups ice

1 cup ginger ale

2 cups pineapple juice

2 cups vodka (optional)

lime wedges for rimming

red sanding sugar for rimming

Mix the ingredients together in a punch bowl and lay a candy cane across the glass for decoration.

3. Parmesan Bacon Bubble Bread

I got this recipe from A Taste of Home and boy was I glad I found it. This savory pull-apart bread makes for the perfect side dish to my number 4 on the list. You can't go wrong with cheese and bacon, I don't really need to say more.

Ingredients (serves 16):

1 loaf frozen bread dough thawed

1/4 cup melted butter

3/4 cup shredded Parmesan cheese

6 bacon strips, cooked and crumbled

1/3 cup finely chopped green onions

2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese

2 tablespoons salt-free Italian seasoning

1 1/2 teaspoons sugar

How To Make It:

Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface and divide and shape into 16 rolls. Place butter in a shallow bowl. In a large bowl, combine the shredded Parmesan, half the bacon, half the green onions, grated Parmesan, Italian seasoning, and sugar. Dip pieces of dough in the melted butter, then toss with cheese mixture to coat. Stack pieces in a greased 9-inch cast-iron skillet. Cover with a kitchen towel and let rise in a warm area until almost doubled (about 45 minutes). Preheat oven to 350 degrees and bake until golden-brown 20-25 minutes. Top the biscuits with the remaining bacon and green onions.

4. Classic Christmas Quiche

What's a Christmas brunch without a classic quiche? I love eggs, cheese, vegetables, and I love them all together! You can use ham instead of sausage depending on your preference. This classic quiche is so savory and super easy to make. You can do all the prepping the night before and pop it in the oven while you're opening presents. This recipe is for a crustless quiche, but you can always make a homemade crust or pre-made if you like.

Ingredients (serves 8):

3 eggs
1/2 lb ground sausage
1 small chopped red onion
1 tbsp butter or olive oil
1 sliced tomato
1 1/2 cups spinach
1 1/2 cups mozzarella cheese
1 1/2 cups half and half
1/2 cup sliced black olives
1tbsp chopped basil
salt & pepper to taste

Optional

Ready-made crust
1 tsp fresh thyme

How To Make It

1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

2. Spray a casserole dish (9 x 13) with cooking spray.

3. Sautee the onion and sausage in 1 tbsp of olive oil in a skillet until cooked. Add to the casserole dish spreading to cover the bottom

4. Whisk together the half and half with the eggs until completely mixed, and pour the onion and sausage into the casserole dish or crust. Add the rest of the ingredients.

5. Bake for 35 minutes uncovered.

5. Christmas Tree Appetizer

This is an excellent appetizer idea especially if you're hosting a last-minute brunch. I got this idea courtesy of homeiswheretheboatis.net. All you need is a variety of cheeses and grapes. I thought it was a good idea to add grape tomatoes too for some color.

1. Cut your cheese into cubes, or purchase already-cubed cheese. The more variety of cheese you use the better it will look and give your guests more options.

2. Alternate the cheese and grapes row by row until you form the shape of a Christmas tree.

You can include sprigs of thyme to give it more of that tree appeal. Surround the tree with table water crackers and you're good to go.
