How To Live A Holistic Lifestyle?



It's nothing new that most of the world either is or wants to live a healthy lifestyle. Today, with the threat of the Coronavirus, this is difficult for most who are stuck at home surrounded by temptation with nowhere to hide. If you've ever wondered what the holistic approach is or what holistic living means you've come to the right place. If you're ready to see the "bigger picture" when it comes to your health and you embrace the thought of living a balanced life, this could be for you. Holistic health is all about being aware and taking care of and healing the soul, mind, body, and your mental health. 

For Mental Health

Millions of people around the world suffer from chronic anxiety and depression. I've written previous articles on this blog about anxiety as I am a sufferer of chronic anxiety. Like others, I experience headaches, shortness of breath, rapid heart beats, and sometimes stomach pain. Like me, if you'd rather not pop a pill every day you can try these holistic techniques. When I first heard about breathing techniques I rolled my eyes. I was thinking "oh yeah like that's gonna help."  I quickly learned that if you practice deep breathing exercises throughout the day consistently, it really does help. I find myself doing it even when I'm not experiencing anxiety symptoms. It's actually how I found and fell in love with yoga years ago. Journaling is also very important even if you think you don't have time. The purpose of journaling is that soon you will start to see a pattern and figure out your anxiety triggers. Try to write down if you can, during your panic or anxiety what had just happened and what's going on. If you can't do it right then, do it immediately after your event so you don't forget. There are also holistic therapists in place to consult with those suffering from depression. They focus on all aspects from your symptoms to helping you understand your social issues and relationships. 

Practice Mindfulness

Mindfulness is about living in the present which is a mindset many struggle with. Practicing mindfulness will help you feel aware of your thoughts, body, and emotions. One way to practice mindfulness is through guided meditation. When you meditate by yourself especially, for the first time, your mind will likely wander. It's best to start off with a guide or through an app where you can listen to a real live person guide you through your journey to relaxation and rejuvenation. 
Don't Forget Daily Natural Foods and Remedies 

Aside from the mental aspect, it's also important what you put in your body as far as nutrition. Try to whole and organic foods as much as possible. They way it will make you look and feel is worth the extra few dollars. It's also crucial to be "mindful" lol about your daily cleaning products. Practically every house cleaning product contains harsh chemicals that are harmful to your health when injested. Nowadays, you can find all-natural cleaning products or even make your own.
