Bravo Look Book stating "I'll tell you how to get rid of it, diet, diet, diet, diet! I broke two ribs and I couldn't exercise for a couple of weeks. That's when I lost the bulk of my weight." After her weight loss, Shannon felt she needed to refresh her face due to her sagging skin. She sought the help of plastic surgeon Dr. Brian Reagan who performed a procedure that's not your typical facelift.
The FaceTite Procedure
The traditional facelift requires usually requires surgery and local anesthesia. An incision is made in front of the ear close to the scalp and then pulled upward while removing excess skin. The FaceTite procedure is less invasive, bladeless, and requires no surgery or anesthesia. The process uses radiofrequency technology to improve sagginess in the neck and face. FaceTite is a fairly new cosmetic procedure that was approved in 2016 in the United States. Besides the face and neck, FaceTite is known to be effective in improving areas including the jowls, shoulders, mouth, nasolabial folds, cheeks, jawline, and forehead.
The ideal patient for the FaceTite procedure is one who shows mild to moderate sagging in the neck and lower face area. If you have excessive sagging in those areas you will likely have to have the FaceTite procedure with liposuction. Your surgeon will provide an oral sedative and numbing cream around the areas being treated. An incision is made that is so small that it won't require sutures or leave unsightly scars. A probe is then inserted through the incision helping to tighten the underlying tissues. You'll likely need to wear a head garment 24-hours a day for up to 6 days. Results of the FaceTite procedure can last up to 5 years. Depending on where you live, it will cost from $2,500-$6,000.
FaceTite Surpasses Its Competitors
The FaceTite procedure is far less painful compared to Thermage (RF Technology) and Ultherapy. Both of these procedures are also non-surgical, but only treat the surface of the skin which won't give you as good of a result. Thermage uses radiofrequency energy, and Ultherapy uses ultrasound energy to create heat. Both procedures are better for those in their 30's or early 40's who have little skin laxity.
