Diet For Glowing Skin




I'm currently on a serious diet kick after this recent 4th of July weekend. It feels like I've been drinking every day since and I'm feeling the physical pains. I don't do the liver cleanses that you find all over the internet. I like to eat, and there are ways you can do that while detoxing your liver. The methods I follow below give me instant glowing skin within days. The worst feeling when you've been drinking excessively for awhile is to look in the mirror and see that puffy, red alcoholic looking face. When I follow this way of life, I notice my skin looks healthy again even tanner and my eyes are brighter. I look less bloated and the pains I was feeling in my stomach have subsided. Look, I'm not saying I'm going to quit drinking forever even though I probably should. My goal is to try to go at least 6 months so we shall see. Everyone has their own way of healing after a long binge, but if you're looking for something other than drinking honey lemon juice, here's what works for me.

Upon Waking

I try to fast for as long as I can after I wake up which usually ends in me eating my first meal at 11:00 a.m. I chug a glass of lemon water and sip a cup of coffee until I feel like I'm just a half-zombie. I know that from the long nights before I've deprived my body of vital nutrients. I've tried 3-4 different super green powders and all but one have awful tastes I can't stomach. I don't like to take my vitamins all at once so I split them out between meals. Any physician will tell you that the best source of nutrients is from food. However, I can't always stomach a plate of vegetables especially while hungover. Besides milk thistle, some of the best vitamins for your liver are spirulina, chlorella, and vitamin E. I read a recent study found here that spirulina and chlorella cleanse the blood and may reverse liver damage. Vitamin E is essential for liver health according to some physicians stating it assists the liver in detoxification.

The Food

As I mentioned before, I usually let my liver rest with lots of water and zero food until about 11 a.m. except for the Super Greens powder. So it depends on if I feel like breakfast for dinner. I usually choose:

* A fried egg in coconut oil with avocado slices and whole wheat toast.
* Organic oatmeal with a side of watermelon or blueberries.
* Salad with shaved beets, and walnuts.
* Quinoa stuffed bell pepper.

I keep it light and snack on almonds, grapefruit, almond slices and peanut butter throughout the day. I continue to drink lemon water all day and two cups of green tea with ginger.

Dinner is tough for me because I'm a meat lover. When it comes to cleansing your liver beef is a no-no as it's high in saturated fat. Luckily, I'm a fish-lover and if you are too it shouldn't be that hard. Have a piece of fish and a salad, roasted squash, or brown rice with grilled turkey breasts. Eating these foods and steering clear from cheese, meat, and processed food at least for a while will also help you melt the pounds. I noticed a dramatic change in the weight in my face and upper body after one week of eating this clean.

I try to never eat past 7:00 p.m. so my food will digest efficiently while I sleep. If I have a sweet tooth that I can't curb, I'll have a chocolate whey protein shake with skim milk and I don't fee guilty. I also take Papaya Probiotic Enzymes which are so important for your gut.
